The data for this indicator covers children who are developmetally vulnerable
on on individual domains and one or more, or two or more domains. The data for
this indicator has been provided by the Australian Early Development Index
(AEDI).
The AEDI is a population measure of how young children (5 years old) are
developing in different communities across Australia as they enter school. The
AEDI was first rolled out in 2009, and information was collected on 92.6% of
five year olds in Victoria. The AEDI data, alongside other complementary data
sets, are a powerful tool in helping determine community need and improving
service and planning delivery for children and families.
